"The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters" ~ Antonio Gramsci
Day 662. Gaza’s livestreamed crucifixion doesn’t just expose the monsters “out there": it reveals the monsters within us and within the systems we've internalised, built, upheld, obeyed, ignored, been entranced and enslaved by.
It reveals how we’ve co-created a world that desecrates Life, numbs empathy, bypasses reality, spiritualises violence
and amputates us from the Sacred Web to which we all belong.
It is too late for the dead and all the erased lineages...
Too late for the thousands of children who will never share their gifts and grow old...
Too late for the lives and dreams stolen, the homes, hospitals, mosques, churches and universities leveled, the infants, cultures, books and archives burned...
And yet, it is not too late... even in this darkest hour, shamelessly broadcast as “the final stage.”
History teaches us that when liberation seems most impossible, when a people have been starved, buried, silenced and disfigured beyond comprehension, this is also the crucible of global moral awakening.
Globally, it’s already happening. Gaza has shattered the illusion of Western civility and moral superiority. It has become an epochal event, awakening millions across generations, cultures and borders to the foundational violence of our dominator, racist, imperialist, abusive systems.
Gaza was / is the Great Awakener.
To see clearly is to begin to return.
To feel again is to rejoin the Body and Web of Life.
To speak is to begin to heal the silence and restore honour.
It is not too late to see, recognise self-preservation and learn.
It is not too late for you to act and to dignify those who remain as the bombs and the famine further desecrate and mutilate them for selfish purposes.
