Rice Bag
I saw a child’s remains in a rice bag / Shredded into nothing but three kilos
Placed in a rice bag that remains half empty / I saw a child’s remains in a rice bag
o my little one! you were not buried whole / Remains, parts, pieces – like my witnessing heart
I saw a child’s remains in a rice bag / O rice bag! What has become of us
Held by a father, digging a grave / A grave where humanity also lies
~ Dr Khawla Badwan, associate professor in TESOL and Applied linguistics
We’re living through a moment that is about addressing sacredness: the Sacredness of Life. And what we are seeing, rather, is the dehumanization and extermination thereof in the most brutal of ways despite all warnings, laws and principles.
And we need to look at it in order to truly and fully come to a place of ‘never again’ for the Earth, and its human beings and other native species. So we fully understand and can come to new values and decisions for, and from within, the interdependent Web of Life. We have no existence outside of the Web.
And truly, “Who bombs hospitals and inherits the Earth?” (Fady Joudah)
You cannot get to a New Earth through a Genocide unless you are fully awake and empowered through its ingestion, digestion, complete metabolization and integration through your being.
Understand that Gaza’s Genocide was entirely preventable and entirely man-made, like they all are. It wasn’t a ‘given’ except insofar as it is the end result of unprocessed ancient, violent, false beliefs and traumas based in separation-consciousness, collected into the repository of the Shadow, and currently financed, supported and protected by governments, state apparatus and enablers, and by silence.
… Gaza is not a single issue: it’s the domino that set off a chain reaction that has exposed the current global order, our belief systems and multiple, inter-related, dangerous threshold points
… Gaza is a rude awakening into the Spiritual War on Humanity and out of the denial of the Shadow within us all
… Gaza is a terrifying mirror, exposed by its live-streaming journalists and broadcast globally 24/7 on decentralized media, showing us the many interconnected points that underpin and enable it: dehumanisation, racism, inequality, injustice, impunity, xenophobia, greed, desire for revenge, supremacy, expansionism, messianic religion, rapacious
stealing oil and gas and land
… Gaza is an intersection point regarding the struggle for and application of International Law, Universal basic human rights and dignity, peace, justice, self-determination and truth ... and a struggle against old, old systems based upon endless war, colonialism, apartheid, patriarchy, ethnic cleansing, white supremacy, exceptionalism, racism, extractivism,
empire, displacement and exploitation of marginalized peoples
Gaza is the greatest historical scandal. Bodies are in pieces. Hearts are in pieces. Souls are in pieces. Heads are in pieces ~ Former French PM, Dominique de Villepin
… Gaza is the exposer of the cracks in the Western-led order as per the repugnant lengths to which it has gone to ensure and finance Genocide for political purposes via the collective dehumanization, punishing and slaughtering of innocent people in the face of the horror displayed by most of the world’s population, and calls from international bodies to end the slaughtering
… Gaza shows the hypocrisy of our political classes where, in the face of Genocide, governments have accelerated weapons sales and transfers, actively blocked investigations and vetoed UN resolutions, cast doubt on the death-toll and/or prohibited the reporting thereof, censored and sanitized media, ignored and scoffed at warnings from global bodies, threatened to harm those in the International Court.
… Gaza shows that speech is not protected and truth is devalued in the unprecedented killing of journalists and the
attacking of journalists, commentators, protestors and university students globally
… Gaza is a thorn in the side of those in power for having exposed the hypocrisy and double-standards of their
proclamations regarding the sanctity and importance of International Law, the rules-based order, the UN Charter and national democratic rights and freedoms
… Gaza has shown the interconnectedness of the escalating global polycrisis, whether political, gender-based,
economic, cultural, racial, environmental, spiritual, religious, technological and media
… Gaza is the most extraordinary and tragic, barbaric moment, reflecting a dehumanization and inhumanity on a
scale that many thought were consigned to the history books and that has been celebrated and able to take place unhindered
… Gaza is a festering, open wound that is being allowed to happen through manipulation, apathy, propaganda, greed, gaslighting, silence and national interests
… Gaza is genocide, pedocide, ecocide, scholasticide, domicide, femicide, infanticide, urbicide, necrocide ~ all for the world to see and chooses otherwise
… Gaza is a slaughterhouse, an abattoir. It is an affront to humanity and an open disregard by political elites of your humanity and beingness, and mine
… Gaza is the ultimate litmus test because it is holding up to the light what humanity really believes about the value of life and even one’s own life, and how some lives just don’t matter or are deemed worthless
… Gaza is a live reflection of humanity’s state of evolution and what it reflects is that ‘never again’ is simply not true and how platitudes such as ‘all life is sacred’ and ‘we are one’ are hollowly, shallowly and selectively applied
… Gaza is a vision of a future where humanity and the humanity within us have been siphoned away and are erased, just like Palestinians are being erased, because human beings have no value in that (technological, elitist, corporatized, violent) future. We are expendable.
… Gaza (together with the West Bank) is a real-time laboratory called ‘The Palestine Laboratory’ for weapons manufacturers and suppliers, with weapons and surveillance then bought by our governments to use on us, to track us in our cities, to arm our police forces and to use in our universities. If a weapon has been ‘battle-tested’ in Gaza, it is considered more valuable.
… Gaza is showing us how we truly, truly do not understand our interconnectedness and the sanctity thereof
… Gaza is broadcasting how our various, hardwon safeguards, human, national and international laws and rights are subject to veto and threats and removal and as such, neither protect each of us nor the world’s defenseless and innocent
… Gaza is showing us individuals, states of being, systems, ideologies and beliefs that allow and normalize harm, mass killing and destruction. That shove these in our faces so we feel hopeless and become complicit. Not just in Gaza, but
locally and globally, personally and collectively. Violence we have chosen to accept as normal
… Gaza is a waking up of the world, a huge initiation and Palestinians are providing the passage with their own lives if only we would re-humanize and see that
… Gaza is saving us all, and if Ascended Masters exist, they are surely Palestinian
When we understand the interrelationship and interdependence of all life, when we can feel this connection, we receive this Genocide into our beings and first wake up to the horror being perpetrated upon our brothers and sisters in our names, then recognize that there is much more for us to heal in ouselves and in the ailing Global Body, and to be, become aware of and to do to obliterate the reign of the ‘Dark Fathers’.
The ‘Dark Father’ according to astrologer Steven Forrest “… refers to the toxic face of this parental archetype – one that involves abusive authority and a relentless desire for incontestable, controlling power over others.”
Such ‘Dark Fathers’ can be either male or female, internal and external, and as people unfortunately align themselves with them (due to their own unprocessed traumas and beliefs), he writes, “For that sense of protection, safety, and guidance, people will overlook the most grievous moral offenses and failures in these “fathers.” They’ll believe anything.”
As we progress, the overlooking will be impossible because the ‘Dark Fathers’ force you awake, just as they do in our most cherished mythologies, films, literature etc. The Voldemorts, the Saurons and Agent Smiths show us where we must grow and what we have not been paying attention to, and they abuse and abuse and abuse until we say “No”, and they are made accountable and are destroyed, their purpose served.
Under the rubble for 15 hours. Her little hand reaching for safety. Her last
labored breaths. He told her not to be scared. She suffocated to her
death ~ @wearthepeace
Believe me, I understand the overlooking, the compartmentalization. I compartmentalize so that the footage I see doesn’t incapacitate me and I can continue my work. And I compartmentalize so that the silence in the world and the paralysis and darkness within the Human Heart and my own Heart don’t trigger me to escape or destroy my ability to act or to
hold humanity and hope for the future.
I saw the people burning in front of me. I swear I saw them burning in
front of me. I swear no one could do anything. I swear the man, the
women and the child were burning in front of me. I swear their Souls
came out in front of me. While all of us were watching, the press, the
civil defense, the medical teams and all of us. The people, the
children, the women, the elderly were burning in front of us. I swear no
one could do anything. So many people tried to save him. Unfortunately
the fire was too cruel…
We tried but the fires are too strong. They burned alive. They (the Israeli occupation forces) are committing massacres like nothing we’ve ever seen, that humanity has never seen. We will never forget this scene.
The Soul is precious, pay attention to it, it is a trust from your God. ~ Saleh Al-Jafarawi, Palestinian journalist and photographer reporting from Deir Al-Balah, Gaza, 14 October 2024
I woke up to Saleh’s footage this morning, with him broadcasting over the din of destruction, his eyes and voice imploring, powerful and anguished, the heat and flames all around. It is some of the most horrific I have ever seen.
There will come a time in the great turning of the age when no one will be able to sleep for all that is being allowed now, and in the days to come.
Friend ...
· The amputation of the limbs of thousands of Gaza’s children represents our own amputation from the Global Body within which All is One, the amputation from our own selves of our empathy, shared belonging and what it means to be human.
· The beheading of so many of Gaza’s children represents the disconnection of our heads from our hearts and bodies, and from our conscience and consciousness.
· The burying under the rubble of thousands of Palestinians, including children, represents our own buried innocence, lifeforce, consciousness, accountability and lives.
· The suffocation of babies in incubators due to lack of electricity to power the incubators represent how we are cut off from Life Itself.
· The burning alive of children is our own innocence, truth and empathy burning.
· The silence in the halls of power about Palestinian suffering is the call from under the rubble of the deafening, murderous silence within us.
later that night … I held an atlas in my lap … ran my fingers across the world and whispered … ‘where does it hurt?’ … it answered … ‘everywhere … everywhere … everywhere’ ~ Warsan Shire, writer and poet
It’s all connected in a system that serves and protects some, but not most, and to which our own beliefs, leaders, fates, health, economies, laws, environments etc are deeply enmeshed.
A world, a humanity that values life and considers it sacred would not discard Gaza or allow its people to be exterminated, or this world and its human beings and species to be trashed.
But … this trashing system and all who serve it are not all-powerful. Neither are they immortal. We’ve been led to believe they are and even wait for them to ‘save us’ at every election.
To see it clearly and to name it is to disempower it. To re-imagine the Future, we have to see the past and the present clearly otherwise we have neither basis nor reality. Just fantasy. Let us call this for what it is. A Genocide. In so doing, let us retrieve our humanity. Let us renew and regenerate. Let us feel again. Let us hear our own Heart’s responses to the cry of the Mother and Father Principles of Life. Let us be in right relationship with one another and the Web of Life.
Until we reclaim our connection with our Earth Mother, in right relation, we won’t be able to restore harmony and balance to our world ~ Dr Rocio Rosales Meza, seer, psychologist, medicine woman
Why Caring is Lifeblood for the Human Soul
Reality cannot be ignored except at a price; and the longer the ignorance is
persisted in, the higher and more terrible becomes the price that must be paid ~ Aldous Huxley, writer and philosopher
What if those being exterminated actually mattered? If they mattered as much as the lives of other civilians? Particularly, white civilians as per the current hierarchical valuing of which lives matter.
Friends,
· It's not normal that genocide is normalized
· It’s not normal that we are silent, or made silent
· It’s not possible that genocide, ecocide, human rights abuses et al don’t affect one personally on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels
· It’s neither spiritual nor wise to believe that it’s in our best interests to make an industrialized, extinction-level
genocide OK
· It’s not rational or practical to believe that ignoring it or merely sending love and light will make it OK, or make it go away without consequence to us now, or to future generations
Genocide is neither a ‘single issue’ nor ‘just’ a foreign policy issue: it’s intimately tied in with domestic policy. It’s tied in with the nature of being human and our humanity, and because we cannot say ‘no’ to abuse and abusers, like one cannot say ‘no’ to an abusive spouse or boss or parent, we remain in serious trouble. That is why this is a Spiritual War. Our very humanity and humanness are at stake.
Ceasefire Haiku
To kill with such ease,
You must first murder your own
Soul. Is it worth it?
~ Faisal Mohyuddin, author, artist, educator
As humans, most of us care because an horrific Genocide is happening in real-time in Gaza and elsewhere in our names, and human beings, animals and environment are suffering or being outright extinguished. That is enough. One is human. And, it is self-interest simultaneously because the One is all that exists and what effects one, affects the All.
And then, furthering into self-interest because most of us prioritize ourselves, we also care because the same nations, plutocrats, CEOs, Military Industrial Complex, deep state agencies and media who are providing cover, intelligence, strategy, training and weapons for the Genocide are the same ones behind environmental destruction and species
extinction, and the same ones that reflect our own consciousness, votes, actions, beliefs.
They are the same ones stoking nuclear brinkmanship. The same ones using facial recognition technologies to track us, steal our data, censor our social media, poison and destroy the environment, brutalize students (did you know UCSF, UCLA and Columbia University have recently and variously purchased / asked for military grade assault rifles, kinetic energy weapons, drones and munitions? Such munitions combine blunt trauma with the effects of an irritant powder, maximizing the potential for incapacitation).
In the future, when we have a museum for this Genocide in Gaza, we will have a special place where we put pictures of the journalists who allowed it to happen. There will be a wing for CNN, BBC and Times journalists who were the enablers of the Genocide ~ Surgeon Ghassan Abu Sitta
They are the same ones who rob us of our rights and moral clarity, shoot or incarcerate people of colour in far, far greater numbers than white people, scapegoat and turn away migrants whose countries they’ve had a hand in intentionally destabilizing, destroying and exploiting for the privileges we enjoy. They are the ones who forcibly remove indigenous
peoples from family and their communities, ceremonies and traditions, peoples and lineages who are subsequently eradicated by governments and powerful corporations. Those indigenous peoples who are the stewards in the largest percentage of the world’s biodiversity and ancestral knowledge.
When we say ‘We are all Palestinians’, it’s a recognition that we know that what is being done to the Palestinians and Lebanese people, funded and enabled by our own government, can – and will - be done to any of us if we allow it. When we stand up for one, we stand up for everyone ~ Doctor Rahmeh, trauma and orthopaedics, UK
It’s time to stop pretending this destructive machine can be appealed to, reasoned with or dealt with via phonecalls, mails or a vote every 3-4 years for a candidate already bought and owned by it.
The machine that comprises our nations and sovereignty prioritizes and uses taxpayer money for endless wars for land and resource theft, regime-change, proxy wars and to violently subjugate and slaughter local populations, rather than spending that money on restoring collapsed ecosystems, climate change and justice, extreme climate events, healthcare,
affordable food, education, the elderly and disabled, a decent minimum/living wage, tuition-free university, crumbling infrastructure, ending the carceral state, keeping libraries open, maintaining bridges, driving on roads without potholes, dealing with homelessness, getting people out of debt.
We are One, and through ignoring, accepting and normalizing Genocide and violence …. for not naming it clearly … we
remain unconscious and we are missing important markers and empowering information, and enabling violence and harm to the Global Body and thus to ourselves and our future. It means we are unable to feel, fully see and meet reality head-on, say ‘enough’ and to put a stop to it and its perpetrators. It means we can’t even recognize it or the perpetrators
thereof. It means we inadvertently become the perpetrators ourselves.
It means we hold off a New Earth.
It’s actually kind of obnoxious that Gaza gets framed as a ‘political’ issue
at all. If you turned into an alleyway and saw a man dismembering a
child, would your reaction to what you were witnessing be ‘political’? ~ Caitlin Johnstone, Journalist
When we are unable to recognize and halt abuse in its earliest stages due to problems in our belief systems, or we are too traumatized to recognize abuse when we see it, eventually the wrecking ball comes. It’s like ignoring a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, or an abusive spouse or boss: eventually you must face reality.
We are always so quick to forgive, to accept because we think these make us ‘good’ or ‘spiritual’. No. One must see and feel first. And it takes great courage, resilience and a strong foundation to do so.
We are paying an enormous price right now for all that we are manipulated into ignoring or unconsciously agreeing to. For what we cannot see within ourselves, and for all that is being kept from many of us and that we don’t know, despite living in so-called ‘democracies’ (now plutocracies and oligarchies).
When we unconsciously or purposefully go along with crimes against humanity and the corrupted leadership that create and finance them, we do so at our peril. This is the legacy of old ways of being that do not value human dignity for all, or the biodiversity and dignity of the Earth and its species. As such, egregious injustices and losses are taking place at home and abroad. We are ignoring red flags and surrendering important insights, values and rights, as well as denying our own humanity. We forget we are of the Earth and that our very existence is entwined with it and that of our brothers and sisters.
After watching my people set on fire, someone reaching his hand in the midst of the flames, what is the world waiting for? The world is setting itself on fire. This is a crime against not only the Palestinian people, but also against our own human nature, our feelings ~ Mosab Abu Toha, poet, author
Eventually, when we can no longer distinguish between fact and fiction, good and evil, right and wrong … when no one believes or feels anything anymore … when one turns away from all or has seemingly transcended all or disconnected from it all by whatever ideology …anything can be done to the people, to the Earth, its laws and infrastructures. We develop a compromised ‘inner GPS’ and we thus have no voice, and we neither believe nor stand up for anything. We let corrupted leadership of the Dark Fathers ‘keep us safe’. We forget the price they ask us to pay.
The normalization process translates into apathy and a deprivation of the power and capacity to think independently, discern and act. The mechanisms to notice and halt destruction are destroyed through normalization and apathy: the end-result of entrapment within outdated systems.
What does getting used to it look like? It looks like accepting that there are certain groups of people who can be killed. That it is, in fact, reasonable and necessary that they should die in order to maintain a political system that is built on the inequality of human life.” ~ Nicola Perugini, anthropologist and political scientist
In short, we thus ensure the continuation of status quo violence by ‘the powerful’ upon the Earth, human beings and all species. We do their work for them, and we do it to ourselves and one another. We let the predators roam free and we become and serve them.
If they can kill as flagrantly as they do, how does their violence extend domestically to you? Consider how little they care about you and your rights despite their slogans? How will the assault rifles, kinetic energy weapons, surveillance apparatus and drones acquired by UCLA, UCSF and Columbia University be used upon students protesting the murder of Palestinians? How do university endowment investments in weapons manufacturers relate to civilian death tolls in Gaza and beyond?
Neutrality is an illusion and it’s a choice simultaneously.
To pretend to be neutral, to not take a stand, is to collaborate ~ Howard Zinn, philosopher, historian, author, activist
I believe this is where we are and why we are in polycrisis, having progressively reached numerous threshold points, and perhaps have already crossed the rubicon.
These days, and because of our interdependence and inherent Oneness, it truly is privilege to not see and feel the connection between oneself and Gaza, or the minerals in your smartphone and the 4yo child in the Congo that mined them for the latest I-phone under toxic, slave-like violent conditions.
While many meditation groups and retreats focus on the internal evelopment
of the path, it is important not to use that inner focus to justify keeping our head in the sand. Are we not training ourselves to meet reality, not hide from it? Thanissara, Dharma Teacher
My friend, these intersections and connections have been red flags for a long time now, but are far more apparent now due to the internet and social media. With empathy and clear-seeing intact, more veils dissolve and we navigate Spiritual War with awareness and resilience. We have a chance to stop this horrific runaway train and to build something of value through clear-seeing and enormous courage.
Being human is what is at stake here. Being a human being. Life Itself. The Earth and its glorious species and Web of Life.
Like the lotus flower that produces the most beautiful flowers whilst rooted and growing in even the most dirtiest and unpleasant of waters, beauty and re-sacredization are possible and can arise from even the darkest of places. They always have, and they will arise out of Gaza and from us all, all the more aware.
But first, and as part of that, let us see clearly, face and take on the monsters and the Dark Fathers, both within and without. Let us conclusively end their brutal, bloody reign.
As Alan Clements wrote in “A Clockwork Orange World, Reprogrammed: When Dialogue is Dead ~ adapted from his novel, “Extinction X-Rated”:
Strap them down, the kings, the profiteers of carnage—
Tie their power-hungry hands to the chairs of their own creation,
Eyes pried open, wide—
Force-fed the blood-soaked screens they once gazed at with pride.
No more debates, no more backdoor deals in polished rooms—
Now they watch, powerless, as the world they burned stares back.
Ukraine burns in 4K clarity—
Not a word, not a dollar to stop it.
The ghosts of Gaza wail in surround sound, Every missile launches a
symphony of despair Tuned to the frequency of lost childhoods.
And Burma’s soldiers march in slow motion, A ballet of butchery broadcast on every screen. Genocide, rebranded, repackaged, Shoved down their
throats till they gag on the truth—Choking on the body count they once
dismissed As “collateral damage” or “the price of freedom.”
Cue Beethoven—His notes now a dirge, his symphonies a sick joke—Because the kings, the oligarchs, The CEOs who profit from slaughter
Can’t hear past the screams in their own heads,
Echoing, growing louder with each body that falls.
They beg for mercy. But mercy died in Aleppo, in the streets of Donetsk, In the forgotten alleys of Kabul and Beirut,
Where drones shadow the sun like birds of prey.
Let them watch it all—Their diplomas of destruction, Earned with blood
money and bomb contracts, Crushed beneath the weight of truth.
We cure them with their own creation,
A world they engineered for war
Now their prison of perpetual awareness—
Eyes pried open, wide, Until the last war profiteer vomits up their power,
And the love of killing, finally, dies.
